OpenPlant Modeler Help

To Insert a Component into Existing Pipe

OpenPlant Modeler supports the insertion of a component into an existing pipe segment. This allows you to select the pipe segment to break, and then define the insertion point of the component along the pipe line. The function breaks the pipe and inserts the new component. The new component is connected if it is appropriate based on size, end condition, etc.
  1. Select one of the inline component options (Valves, Reducers, Branches, etc.)
  2. Select the Placement Point from the Place Component dialog.
  3. Pick a point on the pipe segment you wish to insert the component. The component will snap into the pipe and you will need to select the exact location for the final placement.
  4. Pick a point on the pipe to place the component. or enter a distance into the AccuDraw window. This will place the component the defined distance from the highlighted port.
  5. Optional: For branching components, 3-way or 4-way valves, or valves operators, pick a point to define the rotation of the branch, port or valve operator.
Note: If you wish to place a valve without an operator, right-click when prompted to define the rotation to end command.
